My Boss Wife – Mission Planner

All your data is stored locally on your device only. Nothing is sent to any server — your data never leaves your phone.

Go to Settings → Data → Export Backup (JSON) to save all your Missions, Sorties, and Tasks as a JSON file. Share it to Files, email, or any app you choose.

Go to Settings → Data → Import Backup (JSON) and select a previously exported JSON file. The app shows a preview of how many missions, sorties, and tasks will be imported before you confirm. Importing wipes all current data and replaces it with the backup.

All locally stored data is permanently deleted — missions, tasks, streak, level, and achievements. Export a backup first if you want to preserve your data.

When enabled under Settings → Security → Set PIN, you must enter a 4-digit PIN every time the app opens or returns from the background. The PIN is stored securely in the iOS Keychain and never transmitted anywhere.

Go to Settings → Security and tap Change PIN or Remove PIN.

Go to Settings → Danger Zone → Wipe All Data. This permanently deletes all missions, tasks, streak progress, level XP, and achievements. Export a backup first.

A Mission is a top-level goal or project — like "Renovate the Garage" or "Plan Summer Vacation." Each Mission contains Sorties and Tasks, and tracks its own progress, priority, and budget.

Tap the + button on the Missions tab. Set the name, icon, and color. Optionally add a Goal (a personal intention), Budget, Start Date, End Date, Notes, and Priority.

A Sortie is a folder of Tasks within a Mission — for example, inside a "Home Makeover" Mission you might have Sorties called "Kitchen," "Bathroom," and "Bedroom." Each Sortie has its own name and icon.

Open a Mission and tap Add Sortie or Add Task from the toolbar.

Each task has: Name, Notes, Status (To Do / In Progress / Ready for Review / Done / Cancelled), Priority (Low / Med / High / Critical), Ranking (S–F), Due Date, and optional Recurring settings.

Task ranking reflects how consistently you complete a task over time. Completing a task improves its rank (toward S); resetting it or letting it decay moves it back down. Tasks start at F and earn their rank through repeated completions.

Long-press any task and tap View History (or use the context menu in All Tasks). This shows every date the task was completed and the current completion count.

Yes. Open a task and use the Sortie picker to move it. You can also long-press a task and choose Move to Sortie. In selection mode, select multiple tasks and move them all at once.

Long-press any task and choose Duplicate from the context menu. The copy starts fresh — no completion history is carried over.

Four priority levels: Critical (red), High (orange), Med (blue), and Low (green). Applies to both Tasks and Sorties.

All Tasks shows every task across all your missions in one unified list. Each row shows the mission and sortie it belongs to. Tap any task to edit it.

Tap the sort button (↑↓) to choose: Newest First, Name, Status, Priority, Ranking, or Due Date.

Tap the filter button to narrow by Mission, Status, Priority, Ranking, or Recurring Interval. Multiple filters can be active at once. Tap Clear All to reset.

Yes. Tap the sort button and choose Select Tasks to enter selection mode. Select any number of tasks, then use the bottom bar to bulk-set their status to To Do or Done.

Rankings grade the quality of Missions, Sorties, and Tasks. S (gold) is excellent, A (green) is great, B (blue) is good, C (orange) is fair, D (orange-red) is poor, and F (red) is failing. Missions and Sorties use manual rankings; task rankings update automatically based on completion history.

Status (To Do, In Progress, Done, Ready for Review, Cancelled) tracks workflow progress. Ranking grades quality or consistency. They serve different purposes and can be set independently.

When adding or editing a task, toggle on Recurring and choose an interval: Daily, Weekly, Bi-Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Yearly, or Custom (a specific number of days you set).

If you granted notification permission, recurring tasks with a due date generate local on-device reminders. No internet connection is required.

Go to iOS Settings → My Boss Wife → Notifications and turn off Allow Notifications.

Under Settings → Boss Wife Notifications, choose how the app talks to you: Encouraging (supportive daily check-in at 8 AM and Sunday recap at 7 PM) or Savage Mode (she will roast you — same schedule, much less gentle).

When you open the app, a Daily Recap sheet shows yesterday's completed tasks, your current streak, and a motivational message. Tap Let's Go! to dismiss it and start your day.

Your streak counts how many consecutive days you've completed at least one task. Complete a task today → streak goes up. Miss a day with no completions → streak resets to 0 the next time you open the app.

Your current streak appears in the KPI tab and in the Daily Recap sheet that appears when you open the app each day.

Streak data is stored locally and is lost if you delete and reinstall the app. Export a backup and import it to restore your missions, but streak and achievement progress resets separately.

Every time you complete a task, you earn XP equal to 1 completion count. Accumulate enough XP to advance through 50 levels. The XP required per level increases steeply — early levels come quickly, but higher levels require consistent long-term effort.

Your current level, title, and progress bar appear in the KPI tab.

There are 12 achievements tied to streaks, completions, rankings, and levels. View them in the KPI tab — unlocked ones are highlighted, locked ones are dimmed.

The KPI tab is your mission command center: Boss Wife Score, Level & XP, Streak, total/completed/overdue task counts, Achievements, status breakdown, priority breakdown, ranking breakdown, top missions by task count, and a deadlines section showing overdue and due-this-week tasks.

The Boss Wife Score is a composite score from 0–80: up to 60 points for overall task completion rate, up to 20 points for your streak, minus up to 20 points for overdue tasks. It also generates an overall grade (S/A/B/C/D/F) shown at the top of the KPI tab.

Yes. Use the period selector at the top of the KPI tab to view stats for Today, This Week, This Month, or All Time.

Only tasks with a Done status count as completed. Cancelled tasks are excluded so they don't inflate your percentage.

Yes. Go to Settings → Appearance and choose Light, Dark, or Automatic (follows your device setting).
